We are in the search for a diligent Cost Accountant to be part of our team in the manufacturing industry, located in Warrendale, Pennsylvania. The primary role entails handling customer credit applications, maintaining customer credit records, and resolving customer credit inquiries. The position also involves monitoring and managing customer credit accounts and taking necessary actions to collect overdue payments.Responsibilities:Plan, study, and collect data to determine all costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor.Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costs.Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.Conduct physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program.Prepare, analyze and report weekly, monthly, quarterly gross margin analysis by product, by customer type.Assist in the improvement of internal controls related to inventory.Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies.Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close.Accumulate and apply overhead costs as required by generally accepted accounting principles.Work with the materials review board to locate, dispose of, and categorize obsolete, slow-moving and excess inventory.
